TRANGO and GPL White Paper

Read the White Paper "Reconcile GPL Software and Proprietary Code on Embedded Systems with a Secure Hypervisor" and learn how to:

  • Protect proprietary code from GPL entanglements
  • Be compliant with GPL requirements
  • Preserve the GPL spirit
  • Create a system having heterogeneous software licenses
  • Ensure system reliability and security
  • Easily deploy value added services

November 2006

MIPS released a security White Paper entitled "Securing the Future".

Written by MIPS' Security Marketing Manager, the document explores the technical alternatives for building a security system on-chip.

TRANGO Hypervisor is described as a key security technology enabling secure access to peripherals, trusted environment, and memory.

October 31st 2006

Intel and NTT DoCoMo jointly released the Open Secure Terminal Initiative (OSTI) architecture specifications.

Theses specifications define a new generation platform architecture for NTT DoCoMo wireless handsets, which enables the use of multiple OS and application profiles.

In this document, a Virtual Machine Monitor or Hypervisor such as TRANGOs is pointed out as a key technology enabler for this new architecture.
