Overview

TRANGO's Hypervisor allows silicon vendors and OEMs to run multiple secure native Execution Environments on both single core and multi-core platforms.

Each Execution Environment is composed of a Virtual Processor (VPU), along with its address space where memory and hardware peripherals are mapped. Execution Environments are also called Virtual Machines (VMs).

A Virtual Machine can run whatever would normally run on a real processor: stand-alone applications, Real-Time Operating Systems, or rich Operating Systems like Linux.

TRANGO Virtual Processor's breakthrough relies on its innovative design and hard real-time performance:

  • Designed with security built-in: Virtual Machine isolation is a standard feature, not an optional add-in component. This design guarantees both the highest security level and hard real-time performance.
  • TRANGO's 20KB footprint is a security enabler: being much smaller and faster than other solutions in the market, TRANGO's very small footprint enables on-chip execution of critical Virtual Machines (VMs) to provide protection against hardware attacks.
  • Designed for Real-Time, all Hypervisor mechanisms are fast and deterministic for hard real-time applications.
  • Hardware/hypervisor codesign: tightly coupled with the CPU core and architecture, TRANGO Virtual Processors works in partnership with hardware IP and semiconductor vendors, in order to define next generation CPU and SOC architecture.
